The Department of State Services (DSS) have draws Public attention to plans by criminal elements to return the Country to the pre-2015 era reminiscent of IED attacks on soft and hard targets in parts of the country.

Department of State Services in Abuja.

Through there are reported cases of such incidents in some areas, the DSS has uncovered a ploy by suspected criminal gangs to forge an alliance among themselves with a view to launching further attacks on critical infrastructure and other frequented public places like worship and relaxation centres, especially during and after the holidays and festive celebrations. The objective is to achieve some Self- serving interests as well as cause fear among the citizenry. The Service, however, recalls its earlier warning that some groups and individuals were plotting to stoke violence in the country.

Following these, patrons, owners and managers of aforementioned public places are advised to be wary of this development and implement basic security measures to deter the threats. While the Service is committed to the disruption of this trend and pattern of violent attacks, it will continue to partner with other security agencies to ensure that necessary drills are emplaced in order that public peace and order are not jeopardized.

To this end, residents are enjoined to go about their lawful businesses and share, with security and law enforcement agencies, useful information on the activities of criminals.

Meanwhile, the DGSS, Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Wishes all and sundry a hitch free Workers’ Day and SALLAH Celebrations.

Gov. Zulum dissolves Borno State Executive Council.

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the dissolution of the Borno state executive council.

The dissolution, which is with immediate effect, was contained in a statement signed by the permanent secretary, administration and general services, Danjuma Ali on behalf of Secretary to the State Government and made available to journalists by the Governor’s spokespersons from the press unit of the Government House in Maiduguri.

The members were directed to handover affairs to permanent secretaries in their ministries.

The statement explained that the dissolution is to create enabling environment for interested members of the EXCO to legally participate in forthcoming primaries and congresses of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Zulum, according to the statement, expressed deepest appreciation to members of the executive council for unquantifiable contributions while they held offices and wishes them the best of luck in future endeavors.

Breakinf; PDP Pastpones National Delegate Election.

The National Working Committee, (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has approved postponement of the party’s local government congress to elect one LGA national delegate earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 5.

The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja on Wednesday, said that a new date for the local government congress would be announced.

Mr Ologunagba said the NWC regretted any inconveniences the postponement might have caused.

 

He advised all leaders, critical stakeholders and members of the party across the country to take note.

Similarly, the party also declared the Wednesday 3-man ad hoc delegate congress in Ebonyi as null and void, saying the congress would hold on Thursday, May 5.

Mr Ologunagba said that the attention of the NWC had been drawn to reports of a purported conduct of 3-man ad hoc delegate congress in Ebonyi on Wednesday.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the said 3-man ad hoc delegate congress in Ebonyi on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 is by law, null and void and as such unrecognised.

“This is because such congress is by law, subject to be monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which in this case, is not available to monitor the exercise.

“Based on the unavailability of INEC to monitor the exercise, the NWC rescheduled the conduct of the 3-man ad hoc delegates congress in Ebonyi for Thursday, May 5.

 

Mr Ologunagba advised all members of the party in Ebonyi to discountenance any exercise conducted on Wednesday as the PDP 3-man ad hoc delegates’ congress in the State.

Gov. Fintiri Observe Eid-El-Fitr Prayer in Yola.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, On Monday joined thousands of other Muslims to observe the twenty twenty two Eid-El-Fitr Celebration, Which mark’s the end of one Month Ramadan fast.

The Governor observe the two raka’at prayers at the Yola Eid ground alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who Doubles as Waziri Adamawa, Speaker State Assembly Rtd. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, SSG Bashir Ahmad, and the
Galadima of Adamawa Alhaji Mustafa Aminu, among others.

Speaking in an interview shortly after observing the Eid prayers, Governor Umaru Fintiri, Congratulated Muslims in Adamawa for a successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast.

The Governor advice Muslim Ummah to use the lessons learned during the spiritual exercise to champion the course of peaceful coexistence and love for development of Adamawa and Nigeria.

On the 2023 General elections, Governor Fintiri called on the people to extend the lessons learnt during Ramadan by respecting one another before during and after the elections.

The Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama Central Mosque Yola, Khadi Amadu Bobboi led the two raka’at prayers offered special prayers after presenting the Eid Sermon.
